Social Housing Association and Subsidiary Social Enterprise
Unity Homes and Enterprise is based in Chapeltown, just north of Leeds city centre and is a not-for-profit organisation engaged in property, economic and social regeneration. Unity Homes and Enterprise consists of 'Unity Housing Association'; a registered provider of Social Housing and 'Unity Enterprise' a trading subsidiary social enterprise.
Mantes have worked with Unity Homes & Enterprise to grow the mission and purpose of the trading subsidiary over a period of four years.
Unity Enterprise offers managed workspace across three community enterprise centres. They also offer audio recording studios, film and television studios, meeting and conferencing space and a community cafe. Services are often delivered in partnership with local organisations where opportunities for strong synergies exist.

funding bid of £815K
Mantes have worked with the senior team of Unity Homes and Enterprise to develop a £1.6M regeneration scheme which includes the upgrade and improvement of the community enterprise centres and the launch of a fully funded business advice and support service.
Specifically, Mantes have contributed as follows:

Raised £815,000 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to fund 50% of eligible project costs. Managed this relationship on an ongoing basis through multiple due diligence audits and multiple approaches to performance management.

Managed key relationships at the local authority with respect to a grant of £300,000 and the transfer of a community asset valued at £275,000.

Contributed to the formation of company strategy by preparing reports for the governing boards, presented at board meetings and participated in debate.

Advised in detail the annual budgeting process and compilation of a 30-year business plan and subsequent updates.

Steered key operational strategies such as marketing, lettings, price setting, and treatment of vacant spaces.

Prepared analysis and commentary to inform and support the formation of strategies and decisions.
Mantes continues to provide support to Unity Homes and Enterprise.
