Sam was the lead consultant on behalf of the client, Unity Homes & Enterprise. He led an experienced consultant team to design an extensive refurbishment scheme that would significantly improve the aesthetic and the energy performance of the building.
Sam worked in close partnership with the owners of the building, Leeds City Council, to raise £2.1m in capital funding; £1.6m of this came from grant funding from three different sources.
This was a complex project that required careful planning. The refurbishment scope was ambitious for the project budget, stakeholders had conflicting requirements of the project and the largest grant was time-limited which put huge pressure on the delivery timetable.
This was an exciting project delivered by a committed and skilled team; there was a genuine sense of “can we pull this off?!” and a confident commitment to ensure that we did.

It really was a pleasure working with Sam. He brought a lot of experience and in-depth knowledge to a project that was complicated and very ambitious. I hope to work with him in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others.
