Formed of two main parts, Unity Housing is a registered provider of social housing and Unity Enterprise is a commercial subsidiary that owns and manages over 130 small business units.
Sam worked with Unity Homes & Enterprise to grow the mission and purpose of the trading subsidiary at a time when all built assets were significantly dilapidated. He then led a £1.8m regeneration scheme to significantly upgrade two of the company’s three business centres in 2016. (The third centre, Leeds Media Centre, was refurbished in a separate project 7 years later).
As part of the development project, Sam raised £815,000 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and £300,000 from Leeds City Council. He also secured an asset transfer from the local authority, valued at £275,000.
Sam continued to work with Unity Enterprise supporting the annual budgeting process, occasional recruitment, writing grant applications and leading board discussions and strategic away days.
Sam has provided consultancy services to Unity since 2010, both on a strategic and operational level. I have found him to be passionate and conscientious in the service he provides and provides excellent value for money. I would not hesitate in recommending him.
